Installation of an Agro-Meteorological Station in a Blueberry Orchard

SST has installed an agro-meteorological station in a blueberry orchard located in the village of Zeda Etsere, Tskaltubo Municipality.
This station allows the agronomist or orchard owner to access 23 types of climatic data and weather forecasts for 3, 7, and 14-day periods online.

Climatic data includes:

  • Air temperature and humidity;

  • Solar radiation and energy;

  • Wind data: speed, direction, etc.

  • Predominant wind direction and speed;

  • Evapotranspiration;

  • Rainfall rate (within a given time interval);

  • VPD – the amount of vapor needed to fully saturate the air

  • Chilling hours;

  • Growing Degree Days (GDD);

  • Dew point – the temperature at which the moisture in the air condenses into dew, fog, or frost;

  • Delta T.
     

Weather forecast (3, 7, and 14-day periods):

  • Low temperatures (frost): expected time of onset and duration; high temperatures;

  • Expected precipitation – rainfall in millimeters, probability of rain (%); probability of snow (%) and expected depth (cm);

  • Cloud cover (%) and cloud height;

  • Wind direction, speed, and gust speed;

  • Air humidity (%) and daily evapotranspiration;

  • Solar radiation level.
