Design and installation of a meteorological station at a mountain ski resort

Another Successful Project – This Time Beyond Georgia's Borders!

SST has implemented a major project in Armenia, commissioned by a French-Armenian international holding. The project's goal is to develop a mountain-ski resort on Mount Aragats. As part of the project, meteorological stations were installed at altitudes of 1900, 2400, and 2600 meters above sea level.

Based on climate data analysis, the first stage of the project includes:

  • Defining the optimal layout of ski lifts and slopes;

  • Identifying suitable locations for infrastructure facilities;

  • Making other important engineering decisions.

During the operational phase of the resort, real-time meteorological data and weather forecasts will support:

  • Determining the optimal time for artificial snowmaking;

  • Effective planning of safety measures;

  • Creating a safe and comfortable environment for visitors.

In the future, the addition of a meteorological station at 3300 meters above sea level is planned, along with the implementation of sensor systems that will further enhance the resort's operation. With the help of these sensors, it will be possible to:

  • Continuously monitor snow depth;

  • Control snow and ice load on lifts, buildings, and power lines;

  • Assess air pollution levels.

These advanced technologies will ensure a safe, comfortable, and extended tourist season on Mount Aragats!

Location: Armenia, Mount Aragats
