Installation of an Agro-Meteorological Station on a
Potato Demonstration Plot
In cooperation with the Georgian Farmers’ Association, SST installed an agro-meteorological station on a potato demonstration plot in Akhaltsikhe and held a presentation for association member farmers on the topic: “Agrometeorology for Sustainable Land Management.”
The agro-meteorological station enables farmers to access detailed online data on 23 types of climatic parameters, as well as 3-7 and 14-day weather forecasts.
Based on this data, farmers can:
-
Plan field and agro-technical activities more efficiently;
-
Reduce operational costs;
-
Increase crop yields and minimize climate-related risks.
During the training, participating farmers were introduced to the importance of weather stations and sensor systems in modern agribusiness, their operating principles, the benefits of integration, and their practical applications.
